Hi there! I'm Jamésa Sturkey, a Mommy of six with a passion for the Montessori style of teaching and the mental benefits of healthy play.

 

Throughout my journey as a parent, I've recognized a significant need for safe spaces where children can flourish and parents can take a breath.

 

In my early years as a single mom, I would've loved to have been able to take my son to a space where he could have fun, and I could take a "me moment". My life experience, combined with my love for child education and mental health, inspired me to create The Play Place.

In addition to my work with children, I have explored a diverse array of careers, including being a professional singer, Realtor, and interior designer. However, nothing brings me more joy than being surrounded by children and witnessing their growth and curiosity.

I'm currently pursuing my doctorate in child psychology to deepen my understanding and enhance my ability to serve children effectively.
